Job summary

Methodist Healthcare System seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate patient needs, design individualized therapy plans, and deliver hands-on interventions within a collaborative care team. You will monitor progress, document outcomes, and educate patients and families throughout recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• OT License issued by the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners; grace period allowed.
• BLS Certification required.
• Prefer 1+ year of acute OT experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient functional abilities and develop individualized therapy plans.
• Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions to promote healing and independence.

Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Your role will include:

• Evaluating each patient's functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
• Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
• Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
• Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
• Leading by example - providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare's mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
• Occupational Therapy License issued by the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners - Grace Period of 90-180 days if on Temporary License status
• Prefer one or more years of experience in an Acute Occupational Therapy Setting
• BLS Certification
