Renown Health is looking for a Care Aide to assist with patient care in Reno. The role involves supporting patients with hygiene, mobility, and safety while ensuring high-quality care. Prior healthcare experience is preferred, and candidates must be enrolled in or graduated from an accredited program.
Certification in CPR is required within 30 days after hiring. This position may involve working across multiple departments in the hospital, including both pediatric and geriatric care.
This position will assist with various duties within the hospital setting to aid in patient experience, throughput, and optimizing the efficiency of the licensed care givers in the delivery of care. This position may be utilized as a float Care Aide in Acute Services Division, including Renown Regional Medical Center, Renown South Meadows, and Renown Rehabilitation in the units where competencies are assessed and demonstrated.
This position assists patients with personal hygiene, mobility, safety and provides comfort to Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients as direct by the care team in a timely and consistent manner. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of the uses of equipment specific to the area of employment. This position is responsible to annually demonstrate proficiency in body mechanics, fire safety, infection control, patient safety, CPR, and safe handling of hazardous materials.

The incumbent must possess ability to communicate with patients and families in a caring and professional manner. The incumbent must possess a polite, positive attitude while dealing with customers of all ages, social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work with Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patient's needs specific to the population being served and meets standards of quality as measured by the Department age specific competency standard. The incumbent must be able to function interdependently in a high-intensity atmosphere. The incumbent must demonstrate the desire to promote a healing and caring environment.
Acute Float Pool Care Aides will float to the emergency room, all inpatient units, and other departments where Care Aides are utilized at Renown Regional Medical Center, Renown South Meadows, and Renown Rehab Hospital.
This position does provide patient care.
Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Current enrollment in an accredited nursing or healthcare related program or graduate from a healthcare related program preferred.
Experience: Patient / healthcare related experience preferred.
License(s): None
Certification(s): Current AHA BLS course within 30 days of hire.
Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
