Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified in General Surgery.
• Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care.
• Eligible for unrestricted West Virginia medical licensure.
• DEA registration.
• ACLS/ATLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 trauma and emergency general surgery coverage as part of the ACS call rotation.
• Perform operative and non-operative management of trauma and acute surgical conditions.
• Provide inpatient management from admission through discharge for ACS patients.
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, hospital medicine, critical care and surgical specialists.
• Participate in development and oversight of SICU and lead ICU rounds.
• Support system-wide critical care initiatives and trauma readiness activities.
• Contribute to quality improvement, morbidity and mortality conferences and performance improvement efforts.
