Skilled Wound Care in Stockton, CA, is seeking Acute Care Surgeons to lead wound care initiatives across skilled nursing facilities. This role enables a true Monday–Friday schedule with no nights, no weekends, and no pagers, while keeping your surgical skills active through bedside procedures.

You will evaluate and treat chronic and complex wounds, apply advanced dressings, and collaborate with post-acute teams to guide patient healing.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Unrestricted/active medical license in the state of practice.
• DEA license or eligibility to obtain one.
• No prior wound care experience required; training provided.

Acute Care Surgeon Responsibilities

• Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
• Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds
• Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
• Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing

Acute Care Surgeon Salary & Compensation

• Average Annual Earnings: $200,000-$250,000 (no earning cap as an independent contractor)
• High Achievers: Top performers earn $300,000+ through performance bonuses
• Pay Structure: Per-patient and per-procedure pay, plus quarterly bonus programs

Acute Care Surgeon Schedule

• Part-Time: 2-3 days per week
• Full-Time: 4-5 days per week

Acute Care Surgeon Requirements

• Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
• DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
• Open Background: We welcome Acute Care Surgeons and surgeons of all backgrounds, as well as Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians. No previous wound care experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training
