Job summary

CareWell Health Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to implement and supervise nursing services in a fast-paced medical/surgical setting. The role directs unit assistants on shift, manages observation status patients and overnight post-op stays, and ensures the plan of care is executed with patient safety in mind.

The RN will teach and counsel patients and families, coordinate with Case Manager for timely discharges, and maintain accurate documentation across the patient record.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license to practice in NJ.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and appropriate nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
• Performs thorough assessments including physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative aspects.
• Identifies problems and discharge needs; plans care according to standards.
• Administers medications accurately and timely; follows the five rights and uses two patient identifiers.
• Communicates effectively with physicians, coworkers, patients and families; documents in the medical record.
