Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Physical Therapist I for the Acute Care Therapy team in Hillsborough, NC. The role provides evaluation, treatment and education to patients across diverse acute care populations and involves mentoring students, precepting staff, and contributing to program development.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist in North Carolina.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• No prior experience required.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Completes physical therapy documentation, billing, and statistics per team guidelines.
• Administers tests and measures to establish a plan of care and interventions and manages resources to accomplish patient goals; Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
• Mentors assistive personnel and delegates responsibilities as per licensing board guidelines.
• Provides clinical precepting and teaching for students and/or staff under the guidance of the clinical specialist or other subject matter experts. Provides regular feedback, coaching and mentoring. Evaluates the learner's performance.
• Assists in the planning and coordinating of clinical programs in collaboration with the clinical specialist or manager. Participates in continuous improvement in clinical services by attending and participating in departmental meetings and in-services.
