Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking Acute Care Advanced Practice Nurses or Physician Assistants for per diem shifts. Positions require ED, RRT, or CCM experience with weekend and holiday coverage as needed. No on-call required.

Responsibilities include conducting H&P, ordering and interpreting tests, managing medical and surgical conditions, and prescribing medications following NJ regulations. Emphasis on patient- and family-centered care within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree in an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to NJ state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents accurate history and physical assessments appropriate for patient's age and clinical problem.
• Orders, performs, and interprets labs and diagnostic studies in collaboration with physicians and consultants.
• Manages general medical and surgical conditions with knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacology.
• Prescribes medication safely and effectively in accordance with best practices and NJ regulations.
• Promotes APN practice recognition through conferences, publications, and presentations.
• Provides patient- and family-centered care and education.
