Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide direct patient care with prescriptive authority in a specialty clinic. The NP will collaborate with supervising physicians, perform exams, order tests, and develop treatment plans in inpatient or outpatient settings.

Qualified candidates hold Texas RN and NP licenses, with APRN certification. The role requires acute care readiness, BLS, and a commitment to high-quality care within a leading Texas health system.

Qualifications

• Texas RN licensure or RN licensure with compact privilege from a state in the Nurse Licensure Compact, and Texas APRN.
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing comprehensive or problem-focused exams and histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribes or recommends medical therapies and treatments, following approved protocols.
• Develops and implements patient treatment plans with physicians and team members.
• Counsels patients and families on medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintains patient records detailing treatment plans and outcomes and initiates referrals as needed.
• Provides consultation within the provider’s specialty and training.
• Manages patients in inpatient, outpatient, or other settings as required.
