Responsibilities

• Review patient medication profiles to prevent drug interactions, sensitivities, and contraindications.
• Evaluate medication orders for prescribing, formulary adherence, and therapeutic appropriateness; suggest alternatives when needed.
• Advise medical staff on drug therapy issues and review lab results.
• Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and discharge medication consultations to patients.
• Participate in rounds, calculate drug dosages, and verify orders for accuracy.
• Prepare compounded and sterile medications using aseptic techniques.
• Manage supplies, supervise pharmacy staff and interns, and ensure departmental standards are met.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve pharmacy-related issues and assist in policy review.
