Job summary

Figure is an AI robotics company based in San Jose, CA, building autonomous humanoid robots. We seek an experienced Test Development Engineer to own testing infrastructure for actuation systems, spanning software, hardware, calibration, and system characterization.

You will lead automated dyno systems, integrate Speedgoat/Simulink Real-Time, calibrate sensors and encoders, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and build teams to validate actuation subsystems from development through

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on experience in dynamic motion control and test systems.
• Proven track record building testing solutions for actuation or motor systems.
• Experience with EtherCAT servo drives and PM motors.
• Experience calibrating analog torque sensors and high-resolution encoders.
• Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink, Simulink Real-Time, Speedgoat, Python and Git.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of automated actuation test systems across teams.
• Develop scalable dyno software on Speedgoat/Simulink Real-Time.
• Integrate dyno hardware with Speedgoat and design control architectures.
• Calibrate dynos and validate measurement accuracy across signals.
• Run test campaigns to characterize and stabilize system behavior.
• Document integration processes and validation results with precision.
• Provide training and technical support to test engineers.
