Job summary

Resolution Life US is seeking an Actuary, Model Validation in West Chester, PA for leading a dedicated validation team. The role focuses on developing a consistent validation methodology, managing an annual validation portfolio, and ensuring rigorous documentation and clear communication of findings.

The ideal candidate holds an FSA or near-FSA with 7+ years of experience, including 2+ years in supervision, and has hands-on experience with GGY AXIS and/or Prophet, with a strong grasp of life

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance or related field.
• FSA or near-FSA with 7+ years, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience with actuarial modeling platforms including GGY AXIS and/or Prophet.
• Familiarity with AI and applying AI to improve model processes preferred.
• Strong knowledge of life insurance and annuity products and related actuarial disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and be accountable for Resolution Life’s model validation team, establishing operating model, objectives, standards and stakeholder relationships.
• Develop and manage the annual model validation plan with timelines, resources, and escalation of issues.
• Oversee independent model validations, assessing purpose, methodology, implementation, controls and documentation.
• Provide challenge to model owners while maintaining objectivity and independence of the validation process.
• Review and approve validation workpapers and reports with sound analyses and clear remediation actions.
• Partner with Risk, Actuarial, Finance and other functions to complete validations and communicate results to senior management.

Please be sure to check email regularly for information regarding our employment process.Position SummaryResolution Life is seeking an Actuary, Model Validation to establish and lead a model validation team responsible for providing independent, risk-based validation of models used across the organization.The successful candidate will be accountable for developing and implementing a consistent model validation methodology, managing the annual portfolio of model validations, and ensuring that validation work is appropriately scoped, executed, documented, reviewed, and communicated. The team leader will manage and develop a team of actuaries with varying levels of experience.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and be accountable for Resolution Life’s model validation team, including establishing the team’s operating model, objectives, standards, processes, and working relationships with key stakeholders.Develop and manage the annual model validation plan, including prioritizing validation activities, establishing timelines, assigning resources, monitoring progress, and escalating material issues or delays.Lead or oversee independent model validations, including assessments of model purpose, conceptual soundness, methodology, implementation, controls, documentation, outputs, and limitations.Provide effective and constructive challenge to model owners, developers, and other stakeholders while preserving the objectivity and independence of the validation process.Review and approve validation workpapers and reports, ensuring that analyses are technically sound, conclusions are supported by appropriate evidence, and findings and required remediation actions are clearly communicated.Manage and develop model validation team members through coaching, technical guidance, work review, performance management, and career development.Partner with Risk, Actuarial, Finance, and other functions to obtain the information, expertise, and support required to complete effective model validations.Communicate validation results, significant findings, and emerging risks to senior management and relevant governance committees.Support broader model risk management initiatives and perform other duties as required.Qualifications / Skills / ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance or related business discipline.FSA or near FSA with 7+ years of experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.Prior experience with actuarial modeling platforms including GGY AXIS and/or Prophet is strongly preferred.Familiarity with AI and practical experience applying AI to improve day-to-day work processes preferred.Strong knowledge of life insurance and annuity products and familiarity with relevant actuarial disciplines, including financial reporting, capital, asset-liability management, investments, pricing, reinsurance, and risk management.Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical matters, findings, and recommendations clearly to senior management and governance committees.Location: West Chester, PA (Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office),Resolution Life US is committed to disclosing a reasonable estimate of the base salary for our job roles.
