CalcAir Employee Benefit Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Enrolled Actuary to join our Actuarial Support team, working with accredited specialists to strengthen customer support and contribute to software features for small plan retirement markets.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with combo plans (DB/DC) and DC administration, EA designation, and strong ERISA/IRS/DOL knowledge, plus the ability to explain actuarial concepts to non-experts.

Qualifications

• EA designation required and active enrollment status.
• Min. 5 years in retirement plan administration with combo plans (DB/DC).
• Strong knowledge of ERISA/IRS/DOL regulations for small plans.
• Ability to explain actuarial concepts to non-actuaries.
• Experience with retirement plan software and feature development.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and data analysis tools; client-facing.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

About the Role

CalcAir Employee Benefit Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Enrolled Actuary to serve on our Actuarial Support team, alongside a team of accredited specialists, including actuarial and other professionals. This role is designed to strengthen our customer support capabilities and contribute to the development, implementation, and testing of software features that empower our clients in the small plan retirement market. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with combo plans (DB/DC) and defined contribution administration, and will collaborate closely with our actuarial, support, and development teams.

Some of the Tasks

• Provide expert guidance on combo plan design, compliance, and administration
• Support customer inquiries and troubleshoot plan-specific issues with precision and clarity
• Collaborate with software developers to propose and refine features that enhance plan administration tools
• Participate in testing and validation of new software functionalities, ensuring actuarial accuracy and usability
• Contribute to training materials and client education initiatives related to retirement plan features
• Assist in interpreting regulatory changes and translating them into actionable system updates
• Offer insights during product planning sessions to align actuarial needs with technical capabilities

About you

• EA designation required, with current enrollment status
• Minimum 5 years of experience in retirement plan administration, with a focus on combo plans including DC administration
• Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations applicable to small retirement plans
• Proven ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-actuarial audiences
• Experience working with retirement plan software platforms and contributing to feature developmentExcellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data analysis tools
• Prior experience in a client-facing support role
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Nice to have

• Familiarity with our software or other pension administration software is highly desirable
• Exposure to software testing or QA processes

FLSA Designation (US Only): Exempt

Salary Range: The estimated base salary range for this role is USD$130,500.00 - USD$159,500.00 per year. We include salary ranges in job postings only where required by applicable pay transparency laws, based on the jurisdictions in which the role may be performed. The posted range is a good faith estimate and reflects factors that are subject to change. Final offer amounts may vary based on job-related factors, including work location, candidate experience and expertise, and other relevant considerations.

Other Compensation (US Only)

This role will also be eligible for participation in a Company profit sharing bonus plan. Plan details will be provided to you upon hire.

Time off (US Only)

The Company provides a minimum of 10 days of vacation for new employees , sick time based on state requirements, 8 Company-paid holidays and 2 personal holidays per year.
