Responsibilities

• Day-to-day responsibilities vary by team but include developing, redesigning, and reconstructing actuarial processes; extracting, reviewing, and analyzing data to produce reports and spreadsheets; and supporting actuarial projects.

The Opportunity

As an Actuarial intern, you will handle a myriad of actuarial functions with a high focus on detail and providing significant support to your team, be it pricing, valuation, governance, or solvency. Ascend is a team-centered environment dedicated to ensuring you are performing actuarial functions in a collaborative and encouraging environment. The position is hybrid, requiring at least two days a week in Ascend’s Cincinnati office. Housing will be provided if required.

Job Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibilities would vary based on team placement but could include functions such as development, redesign, and reconstruction of actuarial processes, extracting, reviewing, and analyzing data to develop reports and spreadsheets, and assisting in projects to support the actuarial functions of the team.

Minimum Qualifications

• Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

Ideal Qualifications

• Passed one actuarial exam
• Previous actuarial internship experience
