Job summary

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is seeking an Actuarial Intern in Newark, NJ. Join our Actuary Team to work on data-driven projects, reserve calculations, pricing analysis, and financial projections in a hybrid environment.

The internship runs 11 weeks (June 7, 2027 – August 19, 2027) with a Newark office location and 2 days/week in the office. You’ll gain hands-on actuarial experience while collaborating with analytics professionals.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.
• Affinity for learning to develop tools for working with data sets.
• Intermediate or Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Actuary/Analytics team on existing initiatives.
• Map data structures and identify correlations in datasets.
• Perform actuarial tasks such as reserve calculations, pricing analyses, and financial projections.
