Job summary

New York Life Insurance Co seeks an Actuarial Assistant for its full-time actuarial development program in Corporate Finance. The role blends theoretical and practical actuarial work with rotating assignments and strong support for actuarial exams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or finance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Analytical mindset and effective decision-making abilities.
Progress toward ASA/FSA designation is preferred.
Knowledge of modeling packages, programming languages, and spreadsheet/database software is preferred.

Responsibilities

Gain broad actuarial exposure through rotating assignments within Corporate Finance.
Develop premiums and benefits for insurance and annuity products.
Monitor experience and develop modeling assumptions.
Project profitability and analyze drivers of financial performance.
Assist with asset–liability matching and risk management.
Conduct actuarial research and statistical analyses.
Support completion of actuarial exams while contributing to the team.
