Zurich North America in Schaumburg, IL is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join the Reserving Transformation team in a hybrid role. The position focuses on modernization, AI-enabled automation, and improved decision support within actuarial reserving processes.

You will work with cross-functional teams to implement improvements, modernize reporting, and translate business challenges into practical, data-driven solutions using Python, Databricks, Power BI, Excel, and SQL.

Qualifications

• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice or a Bachelor’s Degree with 3.0 GPA and actuarial exam progress.
• Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams.
• Progress toward CAS exams and ACAS/FCAS designations is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into practical solutions.
• Experience with Python, Databricks, Power BI, Excel, SQL or similar technologies.

Zurich North America is currently looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join our Actuarial Reserving Transformation team. This role is a hybrid in-office role based in our Schaumburg, IL office.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

• Support actuarial transformation initiatives, including process simplification and modernization, Group tool adoption, automation, and continuous improvement
• Help shape and implement Agentic AI opportunities across actuarial reserving processes, improving productivity, transparency, and decision support.
• Partner with Group transformation teams ensuring alignment with enterprise capabilities while addressing local business needs.
• Prioritize and collaborate with the BU Reporting team to modernize reporting capabilities, improve transparency, and deliver actionable business insights.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate operational challenges into practical AI, automation, and reporting solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 2 or more years technical/insurance experience
  OR
• Bachelors Degree with 3.0 cumulative GPA and No prior experience required in the Actuarial area
  AND
• Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Progress toward CAS exams and commitment to pursuing ACAS and FCAS designations.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for improving business processes through technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguous or evolving business requirements.
• Demonstrated interest in technology, data, automation, and AI-enabled solutions, with exposure to tools such as Python, Databricks, Power BI, Excel, SQL, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with or interest in actuarial reserving, financial analysis, and insurance operations.
• Ability to learn new concepts quickly and translate business needs into practical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across actuarial, business, and technology teams.
• Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and willingness to take ownership of assignments in a fast-paced transformation environment.
• Exposure to actuarial reserving, projects, process improvement initiatives, or technology implementations is a plus.

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $65,900.00 - $108,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
