Job summary

NFP, an Aon company, is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to analyze claims and risk data, build models, and support underwriting decisions. You will develop pricing for medical, dental, and vision plans while evaluating reserves and experience.

The role combines technical actuarial work with data analysis to help evaluate risk exposure and program performance, offering mentorship and opportunities for credentials advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or another quantitatively rigorous field.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher is expected.
• At least one actuarial internship or other directly relevant analytical experience.
• Exposure to, or interest in learning, SQL, Python, and AI-enabled analytical tools.
• Completion of two or more actuarial exams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze medical claims, membership, pricing, and underwriting data to identify trends and support business decisions
• Conduct actuarial research and experience studies to develop pricing assumptions
• Evaluate provider network discounts and PPO factors used in rating
• Develop pricing for medical, dental, and vision benefit plans with Underwriting
• Support review and refinement of manual rates, trends, and pricing factors
• Contribute to development and pricing of new products and benefits
• Perform loss-ratio and financial analyses to assess performance
• Present findings to actuarial, underwriting, and business partners
• Take increasing ownership of projects with mentorship
