Job summary

Auto Club Group (ACG) in the United States is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join a hybrid work environment. You will learn and apply actuarial techniques, analyze data, prepare reports, and support pricing and reserving for property/casualty insurance products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • Actuarial examinations completed or within 18 months of date of hire.
  • Eligibility to participate in Actuarial Professional Development Program.
  • Experience performing research and statistical analysis; proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry terminology; experience with R, Python, or SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply actuarial techniques to analyze data, develop material, and prepare communications.
  • Compile and organize data for actuarial review; prepare reports, proposals, system documents, filing support, and documentation files.
  • Support projects as required; develop pricing and/or reserving for current and/or new property/casualty insurance coverage and products.
  • Formulate and interpret mathematical ratemaking and/or reserving models using available tools; assist with ad hoc analyses (e.g., classification, inflation, tail factor analyses).
  • Support state and regulatory filings; respond to inquiries from auditors/Departments of Insurance.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to gather and verify data for rate indications, rate revisions, reserve indications, and special projects.
  • Begin applying actuarial methods to obtain indications, complete projects, analyze results, and make recommendations.
  • Research trend indicators for analysis and communicate results effectively; prepare narratives explaining quarterly reserve analyses and reserve comparisons with independent third parties.

Job description

Overview

Position: Actuarial Analyst (Full-time). Location: Hybrid work arrangement. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This role requires lawful work authorization in the U.S. and the employer will not sponsor work visas for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Learn and apply actuarial techniques to analyze data, develop material, and prepare communications.

Qualifications
  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • Successful completion of one or more actuarial examinations, either prior to or within 18 months of date of hire.
  • Eligibility to participate in Actuarial Professional Development Program in accordance with department guidelines.
  • Experience performing research and statistical analysis; proficiency with PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Knowledge of statistical software tools and/or modeling concepts to develop recommendations and draw conclusions.
  • Skills in preparing and presenting material; ability to manage workflow and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of insurance industry terminology; experience with R, Python, or SQL.
Work Environment

The position works from a home office location. Depending on role, some in-office presence may be required for important departmental meetings or team-building events.

Compensation & Benefits

A compensation package with a competitive salary range of $65,000 – $80,000 annually, plus annual bonus potential based on performance.
