This role is essential for developing analytical proficiencies, contributing to Howden Re’s bespoke tools and approach, and presenting valuable solutions to clients. It supports the company’s mission to shape the future of reinsurance by delivering unique solutions and fostering long-term partnerships in a dynamic marketplace.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
  • Perform Analyses: Develop proficiencies in completing standard analyses and participate in more advanced analytical projects as required.
  • Collaborate & Innovate: Work across analytics, brokers, and other functions to identify and respond to client needs, developing additional opportunities related to products and services.
  • Manage Data: Execute data collection and manipulation tasks proficiently using spreadsheets and various database applications.
  • Communicate Findings: Prepare client-ready presentations to effectively communicate analysis results to both brokers and clients.
  • Drive Projects: Manage workflow proactively and take initiative on internal projects aimed at improving processes, products, or services.
  • Ensure Quality: Take ownership and responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and timely completion of all analyses.
The Must-Haves
  • Background: Entry-level Actuarial Analyst with a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, achieving a 3.5 or higher graduating GPA.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience within the (re)insurance industry.
  • Skills: Strong aptitude for analysis, database management, and programming skills, along with good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bonus: Actuarial exam(s), prior Actuarial Internship, a minor in computer science, or completion of at least two programming classes; an advanced degree is also a significant plus.
