Job summary

AmeriHealth Caritas is seeking an Actuarial Analyst (Remote) to join the Medical Economics team. The role reports to an Actuary and participates in the Actuarial Development Program, offering exam support, mentorship, and rotational opportunities.

Responsibilities include analyzing benefit and provider reimbursement changes, supporting data analytics, and developing medical economic models to drive cost containment and informed decisions across our health plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field.
• 1–3 actuarial exams completed.
• Internship experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI).
• Experience with database applications used for analysis.
• Strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Calculate, monitor, and assess impact of benefit and provider reimbursement changes.
• Assist in developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases for trend and data analytics.
• Perform monthly data analysis projects to assist analysts.
• Assist in validating HVOs.
• Assist in maintaining and developing medical economic databases and applications.
• Assist in developing and refreshing actuarial medical economic models.
• Populate quarterly reporting templates for LOBs.
• Prepare internal and external communications, including with regulatory authorities.
• Use best practice models and other industry pricing tools.

Job description

For roles that are 100% remote or hybrid, you must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection to support daily job responsibilities. A minimum bandwidth of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required. Those fully remote associates residing in states where service is required by contract, law, or regulation will be allowed to submit for reimbursement.

Role Overview

This Actuarial Analys t will report to an Actuary on the Medical Economics team. The position is eligible for the Actuarial Development Program, which provides actuarial students with exam support, mentorship, and rotational opportunities.

Work Arrangement

• This is a 100% Remote position but you must live in EST or CST time zones
• For local candidates there is an opportunity to work hybris at Ellis Preserve offcie in Newtown Square, PA

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science or related field required
• One to three (1 – 3) actuarial exams
• Internship experience a plus
• Knowledge of Excel, SQL, spreadsheets, data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI, and database applications used for analysis
• Strong project management skills
