Job summary

NEXT Insurance, based in Waltham with a hybrid work model, is seeking a motivated Actuarial Analyst to expand pricing capabilities and guide strategic pricing decisions. You will build pricing tools, support state filings, and craft dashboards that translate data into actionable recommendations for profitable growth.

You will work closely with product management and filings teams, pursue CAS accreditation (ACAS/FCAS) and contribute to a high-visibility actuarial function within a fast-growing

Qualifications

• BA/BS in actuarial science, statistics, or a quantitative discipline.
• 1+ years in actuarial roles/internship, or completion of a minimum of two CAS examinations (excluding UEC credit)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and SQL
• Experience with AI tools and processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including navigating ambiguous or strategic business challenges
• Collaborative mindset with ability to work independently

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Build and maintain rate indication tool for insurance pricing and actuarial reporting
• Assist in the creation of state filing materials
• Create and refine frameworks and dashboards to monitor, analyze, and report on historical performance
• Conduct analyses, generate insights, and translate them to strategic or tactical recommendations
• Collaborate with NEXT's insurance product management and filings teams take pricing action and drive profitable growth
• Be an integral part of the actuarial community, and promulgate best practices
• Dedication to the Casualty Actuarial Societies' accreditation exam process with a goal of obtaining your ACAS and FCAS

What We Need:

• BA/BS in actuarial science, statistics, or a quantitative discipline
• 1+ years of experience in actuarial roles/internship, or completion of a minimum of two CAS examinations (excluding UEC credit)
• Technical proficiency in MS Office (primarily Excel) and SQL
• Experience with AI tools and processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to navigate ambiguous or strategic business challenges
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently

Unstoppable Qualities:

• Familiarity with R or Python is a plus
• Background in Small Business insurance or General Liability insurance

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position in the location(s) listed. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including, without limitation, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. ERGO NEXT employees are also potentially eligible for our annual performance-based incentive program, in addition to our benefits package, consisting of our partially subsidized medical plan, fully subsidized vision/dental options, life insurance, disability insurance, 401(k), flexible paid time off, parental leave and more.

US annual base salary range for this full-time position:

$75,000 - $107,000 USD
