Job summary

Jobtailor in Jersey City seeks an entry to mid-level Actuarial Analyst to support the AI and data transformation roadmap for ISO loss costs. You will scope tasks, track progress, and help design actuarial workflows for AI-facing and customer-facing tools.

The role requires a bachelor’s in actuarial science or related field, 1–2 years P&C actuarial experience, and active ACAS pursuit. Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, and Excel is expected, with an interest in AI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field.
• 1-2 years of Property & Casualty actuarial experience, preferably with pricing or underwriting exposure.
• ACAS pursuit with at least 3 exams in progress.
• Familiarity with actuarial software and tools such as R, Python, SQL, Excel.
• ISO loss costs and ISO data products familiarity is a plus.
• Interest or experience with generative AI tools and ability to discuss its on/off job use.
• Comfort with ambiguity and non-standardized processes.
• Eagerness to learn from complex datasets.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to teammates.

Responsibilities

• Support the AI and data transformation roadmap for ISO loss costs and related data.
• Scope tasks and track progress against deliverables.
• Help design and build actuarial workflows and data logic for AI-facing and customer-facing tools.
• Apply actuarial knowledge to ensure the intelligence behind AI tools is accurate and useful.
• Assist in testing and validating new components and automation.
• Identify where solutions add value versus refinement.
• Collaborate with operational and technical teams to understand data assets and their connection to customer-facing infrastructure.
• Take ownership of well-defined pieces of larger projects with support and mentorship.
• Report directly to the initiative lead on the Actuarial Transformation team.
