PRODUCTION DATES:First Rehearsal: September 25th. First Performance: Enhanced Stage Reading: October 9th & October 10th.

SYNOPSIS:A fierce winter storm mirrors the lives of twins Mikala and Jason, abandoned by their deported parents and scarred by the foster system. In a transitional housing program, Hannah and Michael help them heal: Jason through music and faith, Mikala through gardening, learning that flowers can grow in the midst of a winter storm. God's Stepchild is a raw, hopeful story of resilience, and the power to grow again.

SEEKING:Cast of 6. All actors must be 18 or older.

Mikala: Black woman, 18 years old. Independent, and determined. Jason's twin sister. Mikala learns to heal through facing her problems and gardening.

Jason: Black man, 18 years old, thin build. Shy, submissive, and creative. Mikala's twin brother, who finds healing through music and faith.

Michael: Middle-aged Black man. Wise and calm, with a steady fathering presence. Helps the twins heal at the transitional housing program.

Hannah: Middle-aged Black woman, heavier build. Direct and full of mothering warmth. Helps the twins heal at the transitional housing program.

Angela: Black woman, playing mid-teens to early 20s. Sassy, loud, fun, and comedic. Doubles as Restaurant Owner 1 (middle-aged, a fast-talking hustler) and the Foster Mother (late 30g).

Rob: Middle-aged Black man. Smart, mean, and manipulative. Doubles as Restaurant Owner 2 (middle-aged a fast-talking hustler) and the Foster Father (late 30g).
