Job summary

The Chinatown YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, seeks an Activity Specialist to deliver STEM instruction and enrich afterschool programs. You will provide a safe environment for school-age children and foster learning, interaction, and personal growth.

Responsibilities include ensuring age-appropriate STEM activities, supporting Holiday Camps, and creating engaging learning experiences in a supportive community setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of experience with youth, specifically planning STEM activities.
• Formal certification in STEM required.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and comfortable working with diverse youth and adults.

• Deliver age-appropriate STEM instruction in the Y Afterschool program.
• Provide a safe and positive environment for school-age children.
• Support Holiday Camps and afterschool activities.

Salary: $17.00 - $20.00 Hourly

The Chinatown YMCA is seeking an Activity Specialist who will play a critical role in providing academic enhancement and enrichment in the Y Afterschool program, including Holiday Camps. The Activity Specialist will be responsible for providing a safe and positive environment for school-age children and for providing opportunities for learning, interaction, and academic or personal growth. Specifically, the Activity Specialist will prepare and deliver age‑appropriate STEM instruction for all grades in the Y Afterschool program.
