Job summary

Elderwood Administrative Services is seeking an Activity Leader for part-time roles in Kansas. The position involves coordinating engaging activities to keep residents energized and mentally stimulated, with experience preferred in senior activities. Shifts vary, including mornings and evenings.

The role emphasizes building relationships with residents, families, and staff, and requires a valid NY driver’s license, good communication, and the ability to adapt activities to residents’ needs. EOE.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 yrs age required and HS diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New York Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Ability to inspire and motivate others and adapt activities to residents' needs.
• Excellent communication with staff, volunteers, families and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and carrying out the activity program.
• Approach residents on assigned unit to plan activities and report to Director Activities.
• Prepare resident information for care planning and documentation; write progress notes.
• Maintain contact with community resources for activity program improvement.
• Maintain departmental equipment and supplies inventory; keep attendance records.

• An active social life is an essential aspect of life at Elderwood. Our activities leaders conduct enjoyable recreation programs that keep residents energized, engaged and mentally stimulated. Previous experience working in activities with seniors is strongly preferred.

Shift: Hours Vary; Mix of Mornings & Evenings

Responsibilities

Activity Leader:

• Assists the Director Activities in planning and carrying out the activity program.
• Approaches residents on assigned unit to plan individual recreational and social activities; reports to Director Activities about response and cooperation of resident.
• Prepares resident information for use by the Director Activities in care planning and documentation; writes progress notes as assigned.
• Assists in developing and maintaining good contact with community resources for the betterment of the activities program.
• Responsible for maintaining departmental inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Maintains attendance records and prepares other reports as required.

Qualifications

Activity Leader:

• Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent required.

• Ability to inspire and motivate others, create a warm and accepting climate for residents and be able to adapt and modify activities to meet their needs required.

• This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
