Job summary

Oakmont Management Group seeks an Activity Director for Ivy Park at La Jolla, a premier senior living community. You will plan and lead a diverse calendar of activities and excursions to promote independence and quality of life for residents.

You will recruit and supervise Activity Assistants and Volunteers, coordinate with teams, and ensure safety while delivering enriching experiences within our five-star service framework.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Requires valid Class C license or higher with Passenger Endorsement.
• At least 1 year experience in providing planned activities and evaluating resident needs.
• Preferred 1 year supervisory/leadership experience.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, evenings, weekends.
• Must be proficient in MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging, creative, and rewarding social activities and excursions for residents.
• Lead and participate in activities to encourage resident participation across events.
• Recruit, develop, manage, and schedule Activity Assistants, Drivers, and Volunteers.
• Maintain a safe environment, follow safety standards, and collaborate with other departments.

The Activity Director is responsible for all programming organizing scheduling budgeting promoting facilitating and directing the activities and excursions for the Community in order to enhance the residents independence and quality of life in accordance with the companys mission and values

Responsibilities

• Provide an interesting creative and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Community and promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high quality activities excursions special events guest speakers movie showings exercise sessions the establishment of clubs games art and creativity opportunities educational classes and other such activities
• Actively engage in residents activities through personally leading activities and encouraging resident participation in all activities excursions and special events
• Recruit develop manage and schedule Activity Assistants Drivers and Community Volunteers
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff residents and guests following established safety standards Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co workers and other departments Able to drive Community vehicles

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Requires current Class C prefer either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement
• A minimum of one 1 year experience in providing planned activities and knowledge in evaluating residents needs
• Prefer one 1 year of experience supervising and managing employees and volunteers
• Flexibility in work schedule as evidenced by working holidays evenings weekends and additional shifts when necessary to ensure adequate coverage within the department
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs Word Excel Publisher PowerPoint etc
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests including physical and TB Tests
