Job summary

Bradley Estates Nursing and Rehab is seeking an Activity Director to enhance resident well-being through daily recreational, social, and educational activities. You will plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of programs designed to promote independence, engagement, and joy for our seniors.

The ideal candidate brings experience in senior activity programs, creativity in event planning, and a compassionate, team-oriented approach to care within a supportive community.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a social/recreational program in a senior setting or healthcare environment.
• Knowledgeable about Arts & Crafts and enjoys singing and dancing.
• Reliable, punctual, resourceful, creative and enthusiastic with sensitivity to the needs of the elderly.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, facilitate and execute daily recreational, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual, group and individual activities.
• Create engaging activities to meet residents' interests.
• Host family and resident events to celebrate holidays, birthdays and theme parties.
• Meet with each resident on move-in to capture interests in CRM.
• Attend marketing events, residents' parties and family/resident meals.
• Schedule and carry out daily in-house events for individuals and groups.
• Supervise activities assistants, volunteers and hire entertainers.

We are looking for a Activity Director to help care for our patients and facilitate their speedy recovery. You will also be responsible for educating them and their families on prevention and healthy habits. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the greatest social experience to our residents, with little supervision. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to-promote patient’s being-by providing fun and exciting activities.

Responsibilities:

Activity Director

• To plan, facilitate and execute daily recreational, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual, group and individual activities while taking into consideration the residents' interest profile
• Create exciting activities to fit the various recreational needs of all residents in the community
• Execute special family and resident events to recognize secular, religious, national and indigenous holidays, birthdays and theme parties
• Meet with each resident upon move-in to complete Resident Interest Profile and enter the information on CRM
• Attend all marketing events, residents' parties and family/resident luncheons and/or dinners
• Schedule and carry-out, either personally or through others, daily structured and unstructured in-house events on an individual and group basis
• Supervise activities assistant, volunteers and hire entertainers

Requirements:

Activity Director

• Two years of experience in a social/recreational program; one of which was full-time in a senior center activities program or social activities in a healthcare setting
• Knowledgeable about various activities such as Arts & Crafts and enjoy singing and dancing
• Responsible, punctual, resourceful, creative, enthusiastic and sensitive to the needs of the elderly
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently AND as a team member
