Job summary

Stellar Care Group is seeking an Activity Director to design and run a person-centered activity program for residents with a range of abilities, including those with dementia.

You will assess residents, plan a monthly calendar, lead activities, coordinate volunteers and partnerships, manage the budget, and document outcomes in the resident records.

Qualifications

• Certification as Activity Director (ADC or NCCAP) required by state/scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents' interests, history, and preferences to inform care plans.
• Plan and post a monthly activity calendar addressing physical, social, cognitive, creative, spiritual, and community needs.
• Lead and supervise group and individual activities, including dementia-focused programming.
• Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers; coordinate community partnerships.
• Manage activity budget, supplies, and outings (including transportation).
• Document participation and responses in resident records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and post a monthly activity calendar that addresses physical, social, cognitive, creative, spiritual, and community needs.
• Lead and supervise group and individual activities, including small-group programming for residents with dementia.
• Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers; coordinate community partnerships.
• Manage the activity budget, supplies, and outings (including transportation logistics).
• Document participation and response in the resident record.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Activity Director certification (ADC or NCCAP) where required by the state of practice.
