Job summary

Spanish Trails Wellness & Rehabilitation in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an enthusiastic Activity Assistant to support the Activity/Recreation Director in planning and delivering engaging programs for our patients.

You will help assess patient needs, organize activities such as arts and crafts, outings, and educational events, and encourage participation while maintaining safety and individual goals within a compassionate team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with course work in recreation is desirable.
• Completion of a state-approved activity-training course is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote normal life enhancement pursuits and increase/maintain functioning levels.
• Maintain precautions/limitations lists on each patient.
• Encourage patient participation in group and individual activities, including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, and recreational activities.
• Perform miscellaneous work assignments as needed.
