Job summary

Aventura at Prospect seeks a compassionate Activity Aide to join our team. The role plans and leads engaging activities that promote socialization and well-being for residents in our skilled nursing setting.

You will collaborate with nursing and other staff to create a welcoming environment, decorate activity areas, document participation, and ensure safety. A High school diploma or GED and prior SNF activity aide experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience as an Activity Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Creative, energetic and able to engage residents.
• Patient, compassionate and dependable.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and facilitating daily activities and recreational programs for residents.
• Encourage resident participation while respecting individual interests, abilities, and preferences.
• Organize activities such as arts and crafts, games, music, exercise, entertainment, social events, and holidays.
• Assist residents with participating in activities when needed.
• Help create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for residents.
• Build positive relationships with residents and encourage social interaction.
• Assist with decorating activity areas and preparing materials and supplies.
• Maintain activity areas and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
• Document resident participation and provide feedback to the Activities Director.
• Work collaboratively with nursing and other departments to support resident needs.
• Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and infection-control guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
