Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Activities Supervisor for Long Term Care to design and lead resident activities, coordinate staff and volunteers, and align plans with care goals. Strong communication and leadership are essential to support residents’ dignity and identity.

You will foster engaging programs, document activity plans, and collaborate with nursing, therapy, and leadership to enhance daily life in a skilled LTC setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Two years experience in this field preferred.
• Knowledge of working with a wide variety of resident demographics.
• Experience in social services or creative activities.
• Minimum of one year previous leadership/management experience preferred.
• Eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body.
• Successful completion of an accredited training program approved by state preferred.
• Current CNA certification or enrolled in a healthcare program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Assists with simple nursing procedures and transporting residents to and from rooms.Demonstrates leadership abilities such as developing and motivating people. Possesses the ability to work with strong willed residents and/or behavioral issues. Maintains strong critical thinking skills and problem solving skills. Basic Life Support (BLS).Depending on location, this role classifies as a Sanford Category I or II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver’s license. Also must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy.
