Pathways Travels in Lancaster, CA is hiring 6 Activities Enrichment Assistants to support after-school programs for K–6. Shifts are 4 hours on Mon, Tue, and Thu from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm, starting in January with December training.

Job Description Join the January After-school programs team with Pathways Travels in Lancaster CA. Bring your enthusiasm, and love for the students by supporting after-school program activities in Lancaster with ages K-6. Pathways Travels is seeking 6 Activities Enrichment Assistants to provide guidance and fun times at their Lancaster, CA Elementary School clients site. The classes in Lancaster, CA will start in January but require hiring in the weeks to come and training in December before we go live on site with the kiddos. After-school program schedule - 3 days per week with 4 hour days on: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm
You will assist the Lead Camp Facilitator in implementing daily schedules, lessons, and activities across multiple educational camp themes
You will get to lead and supervise small groups of students during instructional, recreational, and enrichment activities.
You will help with supporting classroom management and positive behavior strategies to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
Encourage student participation, teamwork, and engagement through high-energy facilitation
You will help students transition between activities, locations, and group settings smoothly as well as prepare, distribute, organize, and clean up instructional materials and supplies.
It will be important to monitor student safety at all times during indoor and outdoor activities, and respond to student needs and challenges with patience, care, and professionalism.
Communicate effectively with lead staff regarding student progress, concerns, or incidents
Helping with general cleanup and organization of camp spaces
Ability to administer basic first aid when needed and report injuries or concerns to the Lead Facilitator.
You must have a basic understanding of child and adolescent development, with the ability to manage and motivate groups of students using positive behavior supports.
Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be necessary to follow lesson plans while adapting to student needs and group dynamics.
Having basic organizational skills with an outgoing, enthusiastic, and high-energy personality will be required as well as being a natural Self-starter with strong initiative and work ethic and be reliable, punctual, and professional.
Be a team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed and being able to supervise students indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
College coursework in education, child development, recreation, or a related field (preferred)
Previous experience working with children or youth in grades K-8 (school, camp, after-school, tutoring, coaching, or similar settings)
Experience leading or assisting with group activities is highly desirable
Ability to pass a criminal background check (Live Scan)
TB clearance prior to employment
CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)
