Job summary

Etowah Health and Rehabilitation seeks a dedicated activities professional to design and coordinate engaging recreational, social, and therapeutic programs for residents. You will tailor activities to individual needs, track participation, and ensure compliance with care regulations.

You will oversee volunteers and staff, manage logistics, and collaborate with nurses, social workers, and therapists to support holistic resident well-being and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and coordinating recreational and therapeutic activities for residents.
• Ability to assess individual interests and medical needs to tailor programs.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping for regulatory compliance.
• Experience coordinating volunteers and staff for events.

Responsibilities

• Designing Programs: Create monthly and daily calendars featuring games, arts and crafts, music, exercise classes, and spiritual services.
• Assessing Residents: Evaluate individual resident interests, medical needs, and physical or cognitive abilities to tailor participation.
• Tracking and Charting: Document resident attendance, engagement levels, and behavioral responses to comply with healthcare regulations.
• Managing Logistics: Oversee the department budget, purchase craft supplies, and coordinate special events or outings.
• Supervising Staff and Volunteers: Lead activity assistants, schedule helpers, and organize community volunteers or visiting entertainers.
• Collaborating with Teams: Work alongside nurses, social workers, and therapists as part of overall resident care and discharge planning.
