The Glenview at Pelican Bay in Naples, FL is seeking a hospitality-focused Activities Coordinator to plan and implement a vibrant activity program for residents.

Responsibilities include coordinating events, producing calendars, and assessing resident needs, with a commitment to outstanding hospitality. A Bachelor degree is preferred, and a background check plus drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Therapeutic recreation specialist or 2 years in a social/recreational program in a licensed health care setting preferred in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a varied activity program aligned with the 8 Dimensions of Wellness.
• Coordinate recreational and educational activities, events, and outings.
• Produce monthly calendars and promotional materials.
• Assess resident needs through individual assessments and tailor programs.
• Coordinate Resident Council and family meetings; address resident interests.
• Direct movement of residents between recreation spaces.
• Prepare reports, schedules, and maintain documentation per regulations.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; ensure cleanliness and maintenance.
• Train and supervise volunteers and interpret program goals to staff.
• Document residents’ progress and responses to programs.

Pay Rate: $22.00-$28.00

The Glenview at Pelican Bay is a premier continuing care retirement community located in beautiful, sunny Naples, Florida.

We are currently considering candidates for a hospitality focused Activities Coordinator. Candidates must have a desire to join a great team dedicated to providing outstanding and superior hospitality.

We currently have the following shifts available: Full-time.

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of a varied activity program designed to meet the requirements of LCS Lifestyles and Health Services and the 8 Dimensions of Wellness.

The Activities Coordinator will assist our residents with services including but not limited to:

• Coordinates and provides recreational and educational activities: current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, off- campus outings, special events and one-on-one visits, as indicated.
• Produces monthly calendars and other promotional material
• Interviews and develops the individual resident assessments to accurately provide recreational programs based on individual needs and resident interest.
• Suggests a program of recreational activities to relatives for use upon discharge of residents; refers relatives to recreation resources and services available in the community.
• Coordinates Resident Council and family meetings. Arranges special meetings for residents and families to address special interests and provide educational opportunities.
• Directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas.
• Prepares and maintains pertinent reports, studies and schedules in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Purchases and inventories supplies and equipment. Inspects recreational equipment to determine repair and maintenance needs and cleanliness.
• Interprets the goals and objectives of the recreational program to staff, volunteers, relatives and the public.
• Directs volunteer activities and provides training of volunteers.
• Maintains accurate documentation of residents’ progress and responses to program.

Skills/Qualifications:

A Bachelor degree is preferable. A qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or two years experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting within the last five years is preferred as well. Must pass an extensive criminal background check and drug screen.
