Job summary

Cooper River Post Acute in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a Weekend Activities Assistant to join our compassionate team. This part-time, weekends-only role supports the Activity Director by creating engaging programs for residents and helping plan monthly calendars.

You will lead individual and group activities, assist with outings, and maintain a warm, welcoming department. Weekend scheduling runs Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, at $17/hour.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Positive attitude and outgoing personality.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in creating and leading fun, interactive programs for residents.
• Plan and conduct individual, small group, and large group activities.
• Encourage participation in crafts, games, music, reading, hobbies, and special events.
• Assist with resident outings and transportation as needed.
• Help develop monthly activity calendars and maintain attendance records.
• Provide one-on-one and in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound or prefer quieter engagement.
• Assist with resident assessments, care plans, and documentation as assigned.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Activity Department.

Weekend Activities Assistant - Part Time

Position: Part-Time, Weekends Only

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk frequently, push/pull equipment, assist with activities, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
