Job summary

Westminster Communities Of Florida is currently hiring a Part-Time Activities Assistant to work 10-20 hours per week, including weekends, across the Health Center, Assisted Living and Memory Care buildings in Jacksonville, FL. You will plan, develop and direct activity programs in line with policies and resident interests.

The role requires weekend availability, experience in senior activities, and a basic knowledge of food handling; CNA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma; interest in recreation, crafts and music helpful.
• Must have basic knowledge of food preparation and handling; Certified Nurse Assistant certificate preferred.
• Experience in recreational and activities programs in senior citizens settings within the last two years; familiarity with dementia or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Implement and conduct programs as assigned by the Activities Director, encouraging residents to attend; setup before and cleanup after activities.
• Lead and assist residents groups on community outings.
• Conduct one-on-one activities with residents requiring them.
• Complete documentation such as Assessments and Daily Attendance Sheets.
• Purchase and organize decorations and supplies for daily activities and holidays.
• Assist with decorating Health Center common areas.

Description

We are currently hiring for a Part-Time Activities Assistant to work 10- 20 hours per week including weekends. This position will plan, develop and direct the overall operation of the activitiesdepartment in accordance with regulatory guidelines and our established policies and proceduresand assure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet the level of interests andabilities of each resident. The availability to work weekend shifts is required. This position will be working in the Health Center, Assisted Living, and Memory Care buildings.
