Job summary

Medical Hill Healthcare Center is seeking an On-Call Activities Assistant to help create and lead engaging activities that enhance residents' quality of life and social and emotional well‑being. The role focuses on planning, organizing, and facilitating programs while encouraging participation and maintaining a welcoming environment.

Ideal candidates have strong communication with seniors, reliability for on-call shifts, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with seniors, healthcare, recreation, or activity programs is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate, patient, energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Ability to work with residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive function.
• Reliable and flexible availability to work on an on-call basis.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and facilitate recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities.
• Encourage resident participation and engagement in scheduled programs.
• Set up and clean activity areas before and after programs.
• Escort residents to and from activities as needed.
• Assist with holiday celebrations, special events, and community outings.
• Maintain activity supplies and equipment.
• Document resident attendance and participation.
• Create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all residents.
• Provide friendly and compassionate interaction while supporting individual interests and needs.

• Pay Rate: $17.00-$18.75 per hour
