Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Hampton, VA is seeking an Life Enrichment Activities Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Director in designing and implementing a wide range of recreational and educational programs for Independent Living and Assisted Living residents.

You will lead several daily programs, survey residents, coordinate calendars with the team, and promote active participation while helping with transportation and volunteer coordination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or experience; Entry level position with 1-3 years experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating, and implementing programs for IL and AL neighborhoods.
• Lead 6-7 high quality programs per day.
• Survey residents to determine interests and satisfaction with activities.
• Coordinate with program team to plan calendars, events, and outings.

• Organize, maintain, and stage programming areas and supplies; oversee volunteer program.
• Promote programs with daily notices and posters; arrange and reset activity spaces as needed.
• Provide transportation to activities and occasional off-site outings; assist with arranging equipment.

2 Fenwick Road, Hampton, Virginia 23651Job DescriptionThe Life Enrichment Activities Assistant is responsible for supporting and assisting the Life Enrichment Director in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating, and implementing a wide variety of multi-level meaningful recreational and educational programs for our Independent Living (IL), and Assisted Living (AL) neighborhoods.Assists with developing, planning, and implementing a monthly program of activities and supplies based on the dimensions of wellness (i.e. Movement & Motion, Curiosity & Culture, Feelings & Fellowship, Clarity & Purpose, Compassion & Connection and Leadership & Volunteerism) Harmony signature programs and person-centered interests.Leads 6-7 high quality programs per day.Assists in surveying and interviewing residents to complete the Resident Life Profile and to determine their past and present interests and talents as well as their satisfaction with the community’s programs and activities.Partners and coordinates with entire program team (i.e. LED, HSD, & HS assistant) to complete planning form, organize supplies, plan the calendars, events, and outings for the upcoming month.Develops relationships and connections with residents and families to encourage participation in programs and events and to promote a high level of resident and family satisfaction.Assists in documenting and maintaining all records as required.Assists in organizing and attending resident council meetings.Assists in organizing, maintaining, and staging programming areas and supplies with purpose and neatly.Assists in recruiting, coordinating, and overseeing a robust volunteer program.Assists in promoting programs by preparing and posting daily notices and posters as required.Assists in arranging chairs, tables, and sporting or exercise equipment in specified areas for scheduled group or one-on-one activities and returning to normal structure when completed.Assists in resident transportation to get groceries, shopping, leisure activities and other resident activities.
