POSITION SUMMARY
As an Activities Assistant in our Assisted Living Facility, you will play a key role in enhancing
the quality of life for our residents by planning and facilitating engaging activities and programs.
You will work closely with the Activities Director and other staff members to create a vibrant
and fulfilling social and recreational environment. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and passion for
enriching the lives of older adults will contribute to the overall well-being and happiness of
residents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to all components of the above position summary the following “Essential Duties and
Responsibilities” are essential to successful performance in this position
• Assist in planning, coordination, and implementation of a diverse range of activities and
programs tailored to the needs and interests of the residents.
• Engage residents in recreational, social, cultural, and educational activities, fostering a
sense of purpose, social connection, and enjoyment.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop monthly activity calendars and ensure
a variety of options for residents to participate in.
• Set up activity areas, gather necessary supplies, and organize materials for each activity.
• Guide and assist residents during activities, ensuring their safety and engagement.
• Encourage and support residents in participating in activities, adapting programs as
needed for individuals with varying abilities.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and provide feedback to Activities
Director regarding residents’ preferences and engagement levels.
• Escort residents to and from activities, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
• Assist in decorating common areas for seasonal events and social occasions.
• Support and encourage resident involvement in community outings and off-site activities.
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols, ensuring a safe and clean environment
during activities.
• Perform other related responsibilities as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• The incumbent in this position does not have any direct supervision.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
• At least 18 years of age.
• Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.
• Any special licenses, certifications, and certificates (First Aid/ CPR Certified)
• Special skills needed to meet client needs [ California Code of Regulations Sections:
85065(f)/87411(g)]
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or education in Recreation,
Therapeutic Recreation, or related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an assisted living or senior care
setting.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact compassionately and effectively
with residents, families, and staff.
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to provide emotional support and encouragement to
residents.
• Flexibility in working non-traditional hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as
needed.
• Able to drive community van/bus.
• Able to assist residents entering and exiting van/bus.

BENEFITS:
Pay scale $21.00- $23.50 /hour DOE
