Job summary

American Senior Communities in Indiana seeks an Activity Assistant to enrich residents' lives through engaging, age-appropriate activities. Full-time on-site role with a compassionate, team-based approach.

You will plan daily programs, support residents' social needs, and collaborate with the care team to deliver excellent, person-centered care in a Hoosier hospitality culture.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • State-approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or CNA evaluation; training can be provided by the community.
  • Demonstrates C.A.R.E. values: Compassion, Accountability, Relationships and Excellence.

Responsibilities

Activity Assistant Opportunity at University Nursing Center

Full-time

The Activity Assistant plays a vital and heartfelt role in enriching the lives of residents. With warmth, patience, and genuine care, they help create a joyful and engaging environment where seniors feel seen, heard, and valued.

Skills Needed:

  • Creativity: Create engaging, age-appropriate activities that suit different physical and cognitive abilities.
  • Supportive Presence: Being able to truly connect with residents, understanding their emotional and social needs.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work towards a common goal of excellent care for our residents. Cooperating closely with the care team to support residents holistically.
  • Time Management: Balancing daily schedules, multiple residents, and activity prep.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrates C.A.R.E. values to our residents, family members, customers and staff. Compassion, Accountability, RelationshipsandExcellence
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of a State approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or a CNA competency evaluation program approved by the State. This training can also be provided by the community.
