Job summary

Morningstar Residential Care Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan, organize, and implement engaging programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of residents. You will work closely with the activities director and care team to create a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment.

This role requires compassionate communication, reliability, and the ability to lead group activities while providing one-on-one attention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
• 1 year of experience with seniors or individuals with disabilities.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and move moderate weights (up to 25 pounds).

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily activities, including arts and crafts, games, outings, and special events
• Develop and implement individualized activity plans to meet the unique needs and interests of our residents
• Collaborate with the activities director to develop and implement activity programs that align with our mission and values
• Provide one-on-one attention to residents, encouraging socialization, independence, and participation
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity plans
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to team-building activities

ROLE SUMMARY

As an Activities Assistant at Morningstar Residential Care Center, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. You will work closely with our activities director and other team members to create a fun and engaging environment that fosters a sense of community and belonging.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and execute daily activities, including arts and crafts, games, outings, and special events

• Knowledge of activity planning and implementation principles
• Ability to lift and move moderate weights (up to 25 pounds)
