Job summary

Majestic Care of Toledo is seeking an Activities Assistant to organize and participate in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small group facilitation, and large group presentations. The role focuses on using a variety of activity models to provide comfort and stimulation, fostering community, and supporting events within the facility.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (or equivalent) with preferred Activity Assistant Certification and CNA

• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize and participate in activity programming for residents.
• Foster a sense of community within the living environment.
• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.
• Utilize diverse activity models (pet, music, art therapy) to tailor programs.
• Assist with decorating the facility and preparing events and seasonal celebrations.
• Develop and post monthly activity calendars for residents and families.
• Support recreational programs for residents in their rooms.
• Encourage community volunteering and participation.
• Maintain records of activities and attendance.

Position Overview:

The Activities Assistant organizes and participates in person‑specific activity programming, including one‑to‑one interventions, small group facilitation, and large group presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize the environment to provide both comfort and stimulation to the resident population.


• Foster a sense of community within the community environment.


• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.


• Utilize a variety of models to achieve individualized programming such as pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy, etc.


• Assist with decorating the facility and preparing for special events and seasonal parties.


• Develop and post monthly calendar as a planning resource for residents and families.


• Participate in recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms.


• Promote volunteer efforts in the community.


• Maintain records of activities and attendance.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• Activity Assistant Certification preferred


• CNA certification preferred
