Job summary

Citrus Post-Acute is seeking an Activities Assistant to support residents with a variety of recreational, social and educational activities. The role ensures participation across all care levels and follows the individual care plan under supervision.

The position emphasizes creating a warm, engaging environment and coordinating transport to activity areas while maintaining clear documentation and resident safety throughout day shifts in a Santa Ana SNF setting.

Qualifications

• Patience, tact and a cheerful disposition to handle difficult residents.

Responsibilities

• Organize, implement and direct scheduled activities of a recreational, physical, educational, social and spiritual nature for residents in groups and individually.
• Ensure participation of all residents and tailor activities to different functioning levels per assessments.
• Perform room visitations and activities as required by schedule and resident needs.
• Keep clear, concise documentation on logs and in resident charts of participation in activities as required by state regulations and facility policy.
• Transport residents to assigned locations for activity.
• Monitor and supervise residents during activities to ensure safety.
• Assist in passing meal trays and assisting during meal times.
• Create an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis throughout the unit and shift.

Overview of the position:

The Activities Assistant role provides routine daily activities and services to each assigned resident in accordance with their assessment and care plan, as directed by supervisors.

Essential Job Functions:

• Organize, implement and direct scheduled activities of a recreational, physical, educational, social and spiritual nature for residents both in groups and for individuals.
• Ensure participation of all residents and that activities offered can be applied to various levels of functioning according to recorded resident assessments.
• Perform room visitations and activities as required by schedule and / or observed resident need .
• Keep clear and concise documentation on logs and in resident charts of resident participation in activities as required by state regulations and facility policy.
• Transports residents to assigned locations for activity.
• Monitor and supervise residents at all times during activities to ensure resident safety.
• Assist in passing meal trays and patients at meal times .
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to speak and write in English
• Must have the ability to communicate well with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, general public .
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
