Job summary

Spring Hills Singing Woods in Ohio is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to support the Director of Activities by designing, coordinating, and implementing programs for residents. The role emphasizes compassion, strong communication, and a commitment to safety in a senior living setting.

Responsibilities include planning activities, assessing residents, and coordinating volunteers. Schedule is 9:00am-5:00pm, every other weekend, with a focus on engaging residents in indoor and outdoor

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months of related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in a senior living or healthcare setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution of individual and group activities based on residents’ interests and needs.
• Complete the activity component of the resident assessment within 14 days of admission and update the program quarterly.
• Document required assessments and resident interactions, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Actively participate in resident care conferences and collaborate with other team members to address residents’ activity-related concerns.
• Organize and conduct a range of indoor and outdoor activities, including evening and weekend events, to promote resident engagement.
• Schedule and supervise volunteers to assist with activity programs.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and manage supplies for program implementation.
