Job summary

University Health & Rehabilitation Center in Miami seeks an energetic activities coordinator to plan, organize and facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly events that meet residents' social, physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. You will adapt activities for residents with special needs, handle logistics such as calls, advertising, inventory and budgets, train volunteers, and coordinate transportation.

Responsibilities

• Observing participants at events to gauge their enjoyment and obtain their feedback to improve events.
• Keeping records regarding event planning resources, participant interest, and other notable information, such as injuries or behavioral incidents.
• Reporting medical concerns or observations.
• Ensuring that events are well-provisioned, event staff is trained and prepared, and that the event takes place on time and within budget.
• Providing participants with instructions for the event.
• Adhering to and enforcing all safety procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center.
• Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.
• Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal.
• Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.
• Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
• Must be able to stay or return to facility during emergency conditions
