Job summary

North Capitol Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking an Activity Assistant for full-time daytime hours in Indianapolis. The role focuses on enriching resident life with warmth, patience, and meaningful engagement, creating a joyful environment where seniors feel seen, heard, and valued.

The position emphasizes CARE values and teamwork with the care team to support residents holistically. A high school diploma or GED is required, with CNA training or equivalent program preferred; state-approved CNA

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a State approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or CNA program approved by the State. This training can be provided by the community.

Activity Assistant Opportunity at North Capitol Nursing & Rehab

Full-Time Days

The Activity Assistant plays a vital and heartfelt role in enriching the lives of residents. With warmth, patience, and genuine care, they help create a joyful and engaging environment where seniors feel seen, heard, and valued.


Skills Needed:


  • Creativity: Create engaging, age-appropriate activities that suit different physical and cognitive abilities.

  • Supportive Presence: Being able to truly connect with residents, understanding their emotional and social needs.

  • Teamwork: The ability to work towards a common goal of excellent care for our residents. Cooperating closely with the care team to support residents holistically.

  • Time Management: Balancing daily schedules, multiple residents, and activity prep.


Requirements:


  • Demonstrates C.A.R.E. values to our residents, family members, customers and staff. Compassion, Accountability, RelationshipsandExcellence

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Successful completion of a State approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or a CNA competency evaluation program approved by the State. This training can also be provided by the community.
