Job summary

The Plaza Assisted Living is seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Assistant to bring joy and connection to residents’ daily lives. No experience is required, and on‑the‑job training is provided.

You will design activities that support residents’ mental, physical, and emotional well‑being and lead groups or individual sessions with enthusiasm. Starting pay is $16.50 per hour with full‑time, part‑time, or casual availability.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in meeting the needs of senior residents, including those with memory impairments.
• Flexibility, patience, and creativity.
• Ability to organize, plan and work autonomously.
• Confident and energetic when leading, teaching, and directing activities for diverse groups of individuals.
• Good verbal and written command of the English language

Responsibilities

• Design and implement programs designed to meet the interests, mental, physical, and emotional well-being of the residents
• Ability to teach, direct, and motivate residents into meaningful activities - comfortable leading activities in groups and one-on-one settings
• Promote resident participation and community involvement through volunteer services; create programs in a manner that is respectful of individual choices

All candidates must be able to:

• Pass a two-step TB Clearance


• Pass criminal background checks and drug screen post offer.


• Have or willing to obtain a CPR and First Aid certification (we will cover the cost)
