Job summary

The Oxford Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Haverhill is hiring fun and creative Activities Assistants to join our recreation team. This full-time role offers weekly pay at $16 per hour and involves planning, organizing, and directing daily events for residents, including arts and crafts, performances, and other activities.

We train the right candidate and require at least a high school diploma; English reading/writing/speaking is essential.

Responsibilities

• Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents and tailor programming to their interests.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas to excite and encourage resident participation in programming.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that support physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being.
• Assist with setting resident care goals within the therapeutic team framework.
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.

You assist the department in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the daily events and programming for residents, including arts & crafts, performances, and other activities.

Experience & Education:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.

• We can train the right candidate!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.

• Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires.

• Organize group and individual programming.

• Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming.

• Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.

• Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.

• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.

• Report all reportable events immediately.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
