Civita Care Meadowbrook in Granby, CT is seeking per diem Activities Assistants to join our recreation team to plan, organize, and run daily resident activities including arts, crafts, performances, and programs. Weekly pay is provided and training is available for the right candidate.
The role focuses on building relationships with residents, tailoring activities to interests, and supporting the therapeutic goals of our care team while maintaining a safe and engaging environment.

As an Activities Assistant, you assist the department in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the daily events and programming for residents, including arts & crafts, performances, and other activities.
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.
Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires.
Organize group and individual programming.
Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming.
Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.
Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
Report all reportable events immediately.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Must be knowledgeable in the Privacy Rule and ensure all staff comply with facility privacy practices policies and procedures.
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing policies and procedures.
Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
Must participate in continuing education and inservice training.
