Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center in East Hartford is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities for residents, fostering a positive atmosphere and meaningful engagement.

You will work with the Activities Director to create a monthly calendar, provide one-on-one support, and document participation to help residents enjoy a vibrant community.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Compassionate and empathetic by nature.
• Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and chronically ill.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Plan, organize, and execute activities for residents.
• Engage residents in arts, crafts, games, music and other activities.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop a monthly activities calendar.
• Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need additional assistance.

As an Activities Assistant, you have a crucial role in planning and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities. Your creative ideas and enthusiasm will contribute to fostering a positive and lively atmosphere for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of activities for residents
• Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activities calendar
• Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need additional assistance
• Foster a sense of community and social interaction among residents
• Document and maintain records of residents' participation in activities
